Great piece! I haven't heard anyone mention JP Donleavy's "The Ginger Man" in a thousand years. I was under the influence of LSD for most of my reading of that novel, just "another lost angel: City of Light." I never finished my reading of "De Alfonce Tennis," and I should get back to that, before "Anna Karenina," old boy Tolstoy: I left Vronsky in the mud, the big race early on in the incredibly long novel. Thank you for shouting out JP Donleavy! He's not an author most people know. If he's even still alive, his current prose would be called "Hash-tag, Me Too."
