Romantic tragedies take place around noble and powerful figures such as kings & queens, who face the cruel, unfair loss of their throne, loved ones, and life due to their own flaws and failings. This horrible yet beautiful human being archetype is referred to as the "tragic hero with & without his heroine". We are just some very sad good examples, like Hamlet and Ophelia, or Dante and Beatrice.

Hamlet, both an overly sensitive hero and an implacable villain, with the Oedipus complex, struggles emotionally with melancholy, knowing love, feigning madness, contemplates life and death, and seeks revenge against those who have somehow done him wrong. Hamlet confirmed that he did love Ophelia when he told her to go to a nunnery. Although it is a harsh statement, he tried to throw everyone else off so he had to make it seem like he never loved her. Throughout his over-thoughtful love letter he mentioned that everything else around her may not be true but his love is real. Hamlet asks the biggest questions about the terrible nature of human beings, apparently paralyzed by all of his over-feeling, torn, he rarely knows which way to turn. “Before you tumbled me, you promised me to wed.”

We don’t deserve it, but we get it. We don’t want it, but we have it, this unbearable pain, this winding road behind, right here, right now, and ahead, till death do us part. All we can do is to just understand it, perhaps even enjoy it, regardless of whether we accept it or reject it.

Deep down, we scream in animal pain, that we can’t take it anymore, but we do. We do either through silence, the loudest sound we produce, or through sob waves, we’ve been drowned a million times, though we know how to swim.

In love, it means that there’s no use fretting or complaining about a hopeless situation because there is nothing you can do about it. You may think it's wrong or evil, but we’re in Hell on Earth, baby, not in Heaven, last time I checked as your Czech ... it is what it is, this heart-core suffering is called LOVE, from whatever angle you feel it, it doesn’t give a damn, it’s a blessing in disguise.
