A Cornered Animal, Merry Christmas!

Because Christmas is about the birth of God's Son – Jesus. It is about how He came to give us love, hope and joy. And some humor, too! That message does not change from year to year.

When there is so much bad news and devastation in the world, this is good news worth celebrating!

Well, it is Christmas again! Grinch is grinning and laughing at me, again. Melodramatically, I am opening my presents under the beautiful illusion of a Christmas tree and snow. The solemn poop traditionally greets me, reminding me of how I behaved all year round, how I mistreated the cruel world. Thinking of Santa Clause, my attorney, who somehow always bails me out, I am firing my good old Russian AK 48, modified, so not AK 47, in the air. I can do as I please because I am CovIdiot 49, yes, 49 years old!

Old enough to know shit happens, how it hits the fan, me, a shit magnet. And Unjabbed is my middle name. No, the police will not come because of the barrage because I am pretty far away from a town, deep in the wilderness, and either way they would phone me first if I was willing to pay for their gas to come to my rescue since they know I am fighting my fella commie demons and the capitalist opposition as a true revolutionary. And they would suspect I did not have the money, which is true, because I do not. The Nicaraguan police are friends, not the enemy.

When an animal is cornered by a predator, it will always fight. This type of fighting, the defence against a predator intensifies in the breeding season. Some accuse me of being a prolific writer and photographer, that I breed all the time, go figure. A cornered animal is a cornered animal. There is no other way to sugarcoat it than the beauty and the beast.

Think about it, most humans are innocent and timid, but when provoked or cornered they will go ape-shit (Pun intended) on whatever is cornering them, Human or not. We are extremely aggressive and dangerous if cornered, a hard fact.

Seriously, if the Human body decided it was in a Life-or-Death situation, it will be able to lift a car several inches off the ground, now imagine that strength in different situations.

If you are cornered with no way out, what options do you have? It is fight or die. Which do you prefer?

When life becomes difficult, it is easy to forget that we serve a God who understands sacrifice. He knows what it is like to lose for a greater good. This truth is important for believers to know, because we will also be called to sacrifice. Jesus once said: “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.” 

Matthew 16:24

We can confidently make the necessary sacrifices God calls us to make because He has not asked us to do anything He has not done Himself. Jesus sets the perfect example for us to follow.
